I.  ABOUT THE COMPLETE DATABASE
--------------------
This genealogy database includes (a) individuals in my (b) non-pedigree and (c) members of unrelated1 families mentioned in pages and official  As you look through the database sections you'll find hyperlinked items, including selectable Snapshot Icons (Photo) and Pedigree Chart Icons (Pedigree), that lead to additional subject insights.  See the following for details and the Portal Schematic for a graphical overview of all the Web portal sections.2
  • Database Surname List - There are 908 surnames in the complete database, accessible from a menu item in page headers or from the Portal Schematic.  Selecting a surname from the list will present all 'given' names associated with that surname.  There are a total of 3,316 given names in the complete database.  Particular given names may be associated with multiple "as parent" Family Group Sheets (e.g. multiple marriages) and/or with multiple "as child" Family Group Sheets (e.g. adoptions).  Selecting a particular "as child" or "as parent" hyperlink for a person will then present that Family Group Sheet.

  • Database GEDCOM File - Names, sources and notes are collected in the de facto open standard format for exchanging genealogical data.  This has been removed from unfettered public consumption to help protect against nefarious Data Scrapers that don't give due credit (though there's really no technical way to make information freely available while preventing its theft for profit).3

  • Database Members Military Activities Table - There are 41 database members who are known to have participated in the Colonial Militia, Pequot War, King Philip's War, French and Iroquois Wars, American Revolutionary War, War of 1812, American Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I or World War II.  Individual names are hyperlinked to an appropriate Family Group Sheet, and those in my pedigree are marked with a selectable Pedigree Chart Icon (Pedigree).  This table is also directly accessable from the Web Portal Schematic or by selecting the 'military' entry Snapshot Icon (Photo) of a Family Group Sheet member.

  • Database Family Group Sheets - There are 1,280 pages of immediate-family relationships with hyperlinks to additional internal information pages and external sites (Photo).  Any individuals in my pedigree are marked with a selectable Pedigree Chart Icon (Pedigree).  These sheets are accessible by selecting a surname and then a particular 'given' name from the Database Surname List or by selecting a person's hyperlinked full name anywhere on this site.

II.  ABOUT THE RH PEDIGREE DATABASE
--------------------
My earliest American immigrated to the early colonies: the Virginia colony beginning in 1620, the New Netherland colony beginning in 1624 and the New England colony beginning in 1630.  Here's a 1630 map4 showing their general 17th century settlement areas.  Below, individuals in my pedigree are organized by various shared traits into lists, tables, charts and maps:2
III.  18th, 19th AND 20th CENTURY INFORMATION
--------------------
Genealogy and folklore from more recent times -- additional sources, notes, documents, biographies and pictures, some pedigree related and some not.

1 See "This Web Site's Terminology".
2 For a more individualized organization, a rudimentary ad hoc site search capability is embedded in the top-left corner of the genealogy page headers.  This search may return references to some non-manncreek.com pages (a.k.a. advertisements) -- and since I didn't develop the tool (it's a utility from Google), I can't certify that selecting those non-manncreek.com pages will be safe.  But the tool does do a safe (yet some times incomplete) search of pages on manncreek.com.
3 In addition, all full-scale imaged documents have been digitally watermarked with "manncreek.com".
4 This map is part of a larger collection of period maps on a Fordham University Web site, acknowledged on The New Netherland Project Web site.
5 Calculate Great x? Grandparent number by subtracting 2 from the "Pedigree Level" number.
6 Original map from the book "The Legend of New Amsterdam" by Peter Spier, as noted.  Interactive map from http://www.teachout.org/ (select building icons for owner information) [ evidently this Teachout site is no longer active -- find the archived (6/1/14) interactive map here  ].  Follow this link for an explaination of this New Amsterdam land ownership data (archived 8/9/17), and this link for a brief history of the "Castello Plan" and other related maps.
